Angel hallucinates being at a feast with the rest of the gang, but getting no food himself. The others disappear, leaving him alone with Connor. He is still trapped at the bottom of the ocean. 3 months after Angel and Cordelia went missing, Fred and Gunn are still looking for them.
Connor arrives late to help them fight 4 vampires. Fred and Gunn still do not know what Connor did. Connor overhears them talking about their latest lead, a vampire who may have seen what happened to Angel. Angel dreams of meeting Cordelia on the cliff. They admit loving each other, then he drinks her.
Fred and Gunn leave to find the vampire and Connor insists on accompanying them.
As soon as Lilah has left Wesley's bed, to go to work, he unlocks Justine from her cage in a cupboard and takes her to a boat. He is using sonar to try and find Angel on the ocean floor. Wesley is very cold to Justine, which is not surprising after she cut his throat.
Fred, Gunn and Connor find the vampire, but she escapes before she can tell them what she saw. Connor catches her and kills her to prevent her from telling the others about Angel. Gunn is angry with him for killing their only witness and Connor runs off. Fred defends Connor to Gunn.
Angel dreams of meeting Connor and fighting alongside him against a group of vampires, then breaking Connor's neck.
Fred telephones Lorne, but he has not heard anything from his contacts about Angel or Cordelia. At Wolfram and Hart, Gavin has been working with psychics and has determined that Angel is "alive" and that Lilah is sleeping with Wesley.
On the boat, Wesley gets a sonar contact and sends Justine to investigate in scuba gear. It is Angel's box, which they winch to the surface. Wesley cuts the box open, but Angel is not fully conscious. Wesley feeds him blood since he has not drunk for 3 months. Justine continues to taunt Wesley, calling him "the big hero" and telling him that they (Angel and the gang) will still not take him back.
Connor returns to the hotel and Gunn tries to be nice to him, but Connor manages to start an argument. The telephone rings.
Angel hallucinates that Lorne and Connor are on the boat with them. He thinks he is talking to Connor when he says "I should have killed you". He actually says it to Wesley - to Justine's amusement. Wesley cuts himself to feed Angel human blood, to help him recover.
At Wolfram and Hart's staff meeting, Lilah's failures and her relationship with Wesley are the discussion topic. She accuses her boss of being afraid of Angel and of being weak. Before he can threaten her, she tells him that she has talked to a senior partner, who agrees with her. She decapitates her boss and announces that she has been promoted to his job.
Knowing what Connor did, Fred and Gunn tie him up and Fred uses an electric stun gun on him, several times.
Wesley takes Angel off the boat and leaves Justine handcuffed to the dock. Wesley takes Angel to the hotel and leaves immediately.
Connor escapes and attacks Fred and Gunn. Angel contains him, tells him that Justine killed Holtz and asks him if he did anything to Cordelia. Angel tells Connor that he loves him and then tells him to leave the hotel. Angel collapses and tells the others that they have to find Cordelia.
Cordelia is floating around as a higher being and is very bored.
